Many of you ask when is the best time to holiday in Fuerteventura. Well, it certainly does a lot of what you expect from a holiday here:
January
In January, the climate in Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 18 degrees with possible, but still rare, rainfall. It is possible to swim with a wetsuit in the first part of the month. If you practice water sports with a wetsuit, you can stay in the water anyway! The wind is predominant in this month, so it is advisable to always have a hoodie or a light windproof jacket with you.
February
The climate in February in Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 19 degrees. It is the month where rainfall can occur most frequently. Swimming is reserved for the most courageous. Wind and rain could ruin your trip to the beach. If you practise water sports in a wetsuit, you can stay in the water even in February.
March
In March, Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 22 degrees. This month may see the last rains. The sun starts to peep out more frequently and the hottest hours of the day can be spent at the beach, but always with a sweatshirt at hand! Water sports enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer to take off their wetsuits.
April
In April in Fuerteventura the weather is very pleasant, the temperatures begin to rise. With an average of 24 degrees you can start to enjoy sunny days and spend Easter and Easter Monday outdoors! It is possible to go swimming even if getting out of the water the spring breeze still cools you down a lot. The days are usually warm and in the evening the wind is less strong than in previous months.
May
In May, Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 25 degrees and offers warm days but others are windy. Days at the beach are now more frequent and possible, perhaps not until eight o’clock in the evening as in summer, but you can enjoy the island’s beautiful beaches and dive into the crystal-clear ocean, always in areas where the current is less strong.
You can smell the scent of summer and the days are getting longer, the island is starting to fill up and in the evenings you can stroll around without feeling too cold.
June
In June the climate in Fuerteventura is excellent, you have an average temperature of 27 degrees. Summer is knocking at the door, and this is one of the best months because the heat is not stifling and is accompanied by a light refreshing briskness. Even in the evening, the temperature is ideal.
July
In July, Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 29 degrees and the wind is fortunately always there to cool you down. Days at the beach are longer and longer, you can stay on the beach until the evening.
August
In August, Fuerteventura has temperatures as high as 30 degrees with possible days when the wind is totally absent, except in the south, and the heat will have you soaking in the water all day.
Fortunately, Fuerteventura’s crystal-clear ocean is always cool, so even the hottest and sultriest days can be easily endured.
Surfers and water sports enthusiasts won’t need wetsuits and can ride the waves for hours.
September
In September, Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 29 degrees. This is another ideal month to come on holiday to the island. The beaches are less crowded and the weather is warm but not sultry. It is possible to swim the whole month and spend the whole day at the beach.
October
In October, Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, the heat is still on and days at the beach are often accompanied by blazing sun and a slight briskness. It is possible to swim the whole month and get out of the water by drying in the sun.
November
In November, Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 24 degrees, slightly cloudy days begin to appear, and it may rain. Swimming is possible, but beach days are concentrated in the hottest hours, until late afternoon. If you practise water sports, dust off your wetsuit because you will start to need it.
December
In December, Fuerteventura has an average temperature of 21 degrees with possible cloudy days. It is still possible to swim and spend New Year’s Eve on the beach. In the evenings, a sweatshirt is recommended for the cool wind that starts to chill the nights.
